Human Development, Adaptation and Counselling (DesAAc)
The Human Development, Adaptation and Counselling (DesAAc) research group is dedicated to the study and promotion of full human development throughout the life cycle, with an emphasis on evidence-based prevention, education and intervention. It is guided by a perspective of optimizing development, preventing risks and promoting the strengthening of individual and collective strengths and potentialities, focusing on individual and systemic challenges in different contexts and populations, promoting well-being, equity and social justice. Her research areas include normative transitions such as career development, integration into higher education, parenting and active ageing. The group also addresses mental health issues and systemic challenges, involving in particular unexpected or atypical situations that impact individuals or communities in a significant way, using practices aimed at preventing and mitigating emotional, relational, social and cultural problems. DesAAc values interdisciplinarity and collaborates with other research units, integrating innovative methodologies to respond to emerging issues.
